I think it took about 3-4 years. I would expect that NC36 from NC50 to Clayton Blvd would be finished sometime around 2036-2037. So just 10 more years of the crazy traffic. The lights at Barber Mill and Guy Road really back up bad during rush hour lately. Sometimes it takes 2-3 light cycles to get through. About 15 min to get from I-42 to Clayton Blvd, less than 3 miles.

Seems about right, 20 years to widen 8 miles of a road by one lane each way is what we do best in NC. o_O

Meanwhile NC540 will have built 30 miles of very high end interstate grade highway in the same time.

Yeah, and go thru Kinston and get that fishing gear and a t-shirt. We cant go around that on the new 42. $$$
