Most everyone in our neighborhood has Altell, but job requires a two year contract with Sprint. So I was wondering if anyone out there could let me know what their experiences have been.
Sprint Been a Sprint customer for years. Very rarely have problems with signals or dropped calls. Overall, very satisfied. I have family members who have other providers, their comments aren't glowing
We have sprint personally and work phones (over 100) are sprint as well. I LOATH SPRINT!!! They screw up every order or change made with our work phones and the service is really really sorry! Especially in the last 4 weeks, it has been terrible! Everyone at work complains all the time, their customer service stinks.....I am on the phone with them at least 2 times a month for over an hour each time. :banghead: I would never tell someone to switch to sprint.....run....run....fast in the other direction!
We have also been with Sprint for a long time, and never have problems except in the summer. Reception gets really bad at the house for some reason every year about this time.
Sprint customer for years. Went to Alltel for a few weeks, and regretted it. Crappy customer service, and poor coverage for my needs. Came back to Sprint with no plans to leave.
I dropped Sprint/Nextel in December and went with Alltel. Have only one dropped call since. AND they didn't charge me for the call. SWITCH TODAY AND GO WITH ALLTEL!!!!!!!
At work we have Nextel's and I have an Alltel for my personal. They both have their good and bad points, but overall, I'd rather have the Alltel. I have to go all over the state and they both have dead spots, but the Sprint/Nextel has been far worse than the Alltel. The direct connect/two way talk feature is the only plus the Nextel has over my particular Alltel. Mike
I have had sprint for over 4 years, not one complaint here.. My family has Alltel, I just like their plan better but that is it. Sheri
I had Alltell,(had an emergency call dropped twice in 2 minutes and tossed the phone out on I40 as I rushed home) then Sprint - my problem with both was I lost signals frequently on HWY 210 and C.School Rd. when I'd get up around C3 going toward Smithfield. (I DEPEND on my cell for work) I had Sprint service for 4 years and when I needed a new phone, they wanted to charge me an arm and a leg, while they were giving phones away to people just signing up. I told them what they could do in a polite way and switched to AT&T - free phone (nice one at that) and a great calling plan - 20.00 less per month than Sprint was charging and I have not had a call dropped in the 5 months I've been with them. This is THE FIRST cell I've had where I get all bars in my house - prior, I had to lean over the kitchen sink, or go stand in my driveway grrrr. I'm happy with AT&T.
No phone is "free". And, the cell companies claim that one of the reasons they charge outrageous fees for leaving them prior to the end of your contract is that the phones are so expensive, but that selling it to you at a discount or for "free" still requires he phone to be piad for. When we modified out Sprint plan, we told them up front that we were going to use phones we paid for, and even though they offered a huge credit on new phones, we told them no thanks. We also ensured that there was no cancellation fee, if we close the account, as the only cost that Sprint has is providing service, not equipment.
I love my sprint - I have service when all others fail -especially altel. I have a nationwide plan and when I went to MO had great service and when I go elsewhere.
I had Nextel (pre-Sprint) and just got rid of them, since they stinketh since the merge. I have alltell and have never had one problem with service, signal or billing. Love them. Love my hot pink phone.
Nextel here... can't complain too much. I would need 4 million minutes if I didn't have DC. I like my Beep Beep.
I'd heard that the mating call of the Southern Redneck is the sound the Nextel DC makes when it alerts... Agree with needing a zillion more minutes if we didn't have that DC feature.
with alltels EVDO network, i haven't really lost signal that significantly. on the analog/normal networks i have. fades happen from time to time, but the only place i can't actually expect to hold a call is on 50 crossing Old drug store road. its like a little tree-made faraday cage.
