Hey guys, just trying to set up a fundraiser for a family I know at Duke...wondering if anyone would like to help?? Heres the deal, Donovan is a little boy from Indiana that was diagnosed with infant ALL and AML when he was 4 weeks old. He is not around 18 months old and still fighting the cancer...last week, his family found out that he had relapsed again, this is the 4th time that he has relapsed and this time just happened to fall when he was having his 9 month studies done to go home. His family was given two options yesterday...either let the cancer run it's course and keep him comfortable or fight back...they're fighting back and want nothing more than to one day make it home with both of their children. They also have a 4 year old. This family is some of the sweetest people I've ever met and are trying desperately to save their baby...I would love to help them out by collecting food and anything eles that anyone would like to donate. I would LOVE it if I could manage to get a small deep freezer to put some of the food in...I'd love to have enough of the food to last them at least 30 days...this would ease a tremendous burden on them and anything we can do would help enable the dad to be with his wife and 2 boys. He has a website, www.caringbridge.org/in/babydonovan and if anyone would like to donate, please let me know...I would love to have a day where people could drop things off and a specified location or two sometime in the next 2 weeks...To all the business owners, PLEASE help, I'm begging, for this family...they have no clue that I'm doing this, but anyone who donates, please write down your name and address, as Melissa, the mom, likes to get thank you notes out to everyone who helps. My e-mail is cmdknw06@yahoo.com if anyone needs any more info on it! Thanks in advance!

Alright fellow couponers, no one has responded....

You know you have like 50 boxes of pancake mix and syrup. Give up a few tubes of that toothpaste in the closet... there had to be something you got at triples that you could part with.

I am just teasing, but I think this family really could use some help, and if nothing else just to not feel all alone when you get news like this about your baby. I look at my 20 month old and just cant imagine.

Don't worry, Kristi already posted this on the smartspending yahoo group yesterday and a number of us are planning on donating to her this week. :)

We are waiting to hear where to drop off the items next Saturday.
