Hi'yall! We came back here from our fishing trip. I had to tell you that we were disappointed: no catch and lack of parking space. We were at Kure Beach, south of Wilimington. It's nice there, but it took us an hour to look for parking. We were planning to go fishing on the pier, but too crowded, so we decided to fish onshore, not too far from the pier area. No biting, nothing.

Maybe you can tell us where is a good place to fish onshore (or inshore, if I'm wrong) since we don't have a boat right now. We're planning for our next beach trip sometime next month.

For fishing, it's hard to beat the Outer Banks. I've caught a lot of Blues, Mackerel and Flounder from shore and the Frisco pier. The Point in Hatteras Village is a good spot to fish from shore. Of course, getting there isn't going to be as quick as getting to the Wilmington area! 8)

Oak Island is a good spot too. We were there this weekend. Caught lots of Mahi Mahi.....yummm and some Kings. You can fish from the pier, the waterway, the sound side. Parking is abundant on the beach every third street. Their is also a pier in Southport and lots of banks to fish from too.

You can catch the Harkers Island Ferry and head to the Cape Lookout Lighthouse. Plenty of sun, fun and FISHING!! Or buy a boat.

I can't wait, I'm so ready to go fising!!!
