    Hi,

On my main computer, I am unable to reboot it. I get a blue screen with the message that I need to try virus programs or defragments but I am unable to get into windows to do it. I also don't have a boot disk. Am I out of luck. I tried restarting in safe mode and all of the modes that I have options for but nothing works and I get back to the blue screen.

I tried all the tests that I was able to get into by pushing the F12 button and I am passing all the tests.

    Thanks
    Jen

I had that blue screen once, do you have an emergency repair disk? It's something that you had to create when your computer was working. Otherwise you might have to re-install the whole operating system and all your other programs.

What Operating system? (ex:XP... Vista ??)

Give me the error code. Make a note of the BSOD hexadecimal error number (the format is 0x00000aaa, where aaa is the error number, e.g. 05A).

Running to solutions before identifying the exact problem on BSOD errors is not a wise decision. You create more errors applying multiple fixes that were not needed, with the undue eventual need to re-install the O/S.
