I am flexible most of the time, but there is no subsitute for Duke's Mayonaise, period.

And Hubby won't eat generic ketchup........

Generic ketchup I won't touch either. Gives me the willies.

We bought some Wise cheese puffs for .99 the other day. They were good but a little salty. Then last night we bought Cheetos puffs for $2. We like the cheapers on better. Now we know how we can save a $1 lol

I like the Food lion storage zip bags... you get 100 of them for a little over a buck and I use them all the time for quick snacks and to keep snotty tissues in and stuff. But you are right on the freezer bags... you can't skimp when it comes to freezin' stuff. That and trash bags.... UGH! Now if I could just get the bags that are DOG PROOF! Or get hubby to put the darn bags in the huge outside trash cans I got

I'm in love with those new "Force Flex" ones! I have a tendancy to cram WAY more into a bag than a normal person would, hubby fusses all the time, but I hate to waste a bag. They are quite expensive, but I'm really happy with them. I second on the generic medicines, they have to have the same active ingrediant as the name brand, so they are a much better deal. I don't use a lot of generic stuff as I can usually get a better deal if I have a coupon, but things like potato chips, canned vegetables, frozen veggies have all been good. I actually like Walmart's version of the frozen garlic toast like Peppridge Farm's better than the name brands, it's not quite as strongly flavored, better for the kiddo. Unfortunately, it is trial and error, my husband also will only eat Hunt's ketchup, I personally could care less, but ketchup is almost another food group at my house, they eat tons of it!

Paper towels is one i always go name brand on - can't find a generic brand that even compares and even though cheaper to buy, end up using twice as many so in the long run, the name brand is the better buy. Same on TP.

ewww, not here either. I won't trade my mayo, but am experimenting with tomatoes right now. Also, I have a few brands of TP and will rotate between brands for price.

I am trying some of the store brands and finding that I like them. However, now Im getting store-specific. For instance, I like FL F/F creamer, some Lowes cereals, and HT tomatoes. So I guess I'm attracted to new favorites and not as flexible as Faye  :) .

I grew up on Scott... my stepfather was a penny pincher.. and just loved that there were 1000 sheets on a roll... and god forbid if you used more than 6 squares at any one time... LOL.. So I still have to buy Scott and don't like the Scott Plus (not so many sheets on a roll)... but it all is septic friendly.

    Dukes is a must have....
Heinz Ketchup (or Delmonte..no cheap stuff)
I like the LF sparkling flavored waters (on sale this week, 5 or 6 for $3.00)
LF dryer sheets - not bad.. especially when the large box was on sale for $1.89 a few weeks ago.
LF styrofoam plates are alright (any plate I dont have to wash is ok by me)
LF & Walmart sodas are alright... I dont like the FL soda....

I'll see if I can think of anymore...

I love Viva too... but sometimes they smell really funny. My Mother-in-law tuned me into that. I told her to buy some one time and she said Koo! These things stink... I said oh well they will clean a whole tub... WHO CARES!

And yes Heinz Ketchup! It has a sweeter taste to me than others.
Yes, I have a mouth full of sweet teeth!

When it comes to Orange Juice, there's no difference. I worked as a production supervisor in an OJ plant in Florida. We'd prep for a run of 100 K gallons in a heartbeat. Set up the 12 lines of quadruple head fillers, and load cartons and containers. Started out with our name brand cartons, and when we filled the required number of production containers, switched to a different conatiner, without stopping. USDA checked once per shift, to make sure that it met the minimal USDA standards, and plant QC checked to make sure it didn't exceed the minimal standards. We 'd do a run of FL cartons, perhaps 1000 cases of 12 half gal cartons, and then load in Lowes Foods carotns, or BiLo, or any of an hundred private labels. I vaguely recall a consumer taste test survey where one of the Florida based Kash N Karry OJ samples was judged superior to the name brand ones. We got a huge laugh out of that, becasue we knew from the production codes that it was the same juice.
    YMMV
