So my space bar fell off of my laptop. When I tried to glue it on the whole connector button snapped too. Now I have to touch the sensor to make a space. It wasn't even when I glued it. How do I fix it?

If DDRDan can't help, post the make and model here and I'll find one for you.

The keyboard buttons on laptops, 99% of the time, are non-replaceable.

Same quality replacement keyboard is $72 (incl's 3 day ship). OEM is around half that price. Anything less than that is not a good investment if you plan on keeping the unit. Installation cost depends on if the repair is onsite or drop off, and the time frame required. Worst case, "need it now & come fix it", you will pay around $100 + parts & overnight ship.

It's the perfect time to upgrade your non-access memory module on the ZV5000. 1 MEG Memory cost is $55. If you provide the memory you should expect no charge from the repair service. You'll receive no warranty on the memory installation labor.

You can try the repair yourself, but get familiar with ZIF's and static.

Hey, thanks for the response. I hadn't looked you up yet. Some of your lingo went over my head :) I did a ghetto repair and glued it on, but it's still not working very well. I'm thinking it's better just get a new laptop rather than trying to repair it. Since their price has gone down drastically, I figured I would just wait for tax free weekend and get a new one. I can sell it for a little cash. I'm not understanding how upgrading the memory will help my keyboard. ?? Thanks for your help.

He's saying that its in the same area. where as usually you'd have to take off the keyboard to access it, during the keyboard change it will be easy to upgrade.

Yes, there are two areas where memory is located. The "primary memory module" can only be replaced by removing the keyboard. The other memory module is accessible by removing a plate on the bottom cover.

Keyboard replacement is quite simple actually and can be done in less than 10 minutes, but as ddrdan suggested, you should be familiar with static protection.

There are several keyboards on ebay for under $25.
