I have a desktop I use strickly for CAD work. Win 2K Pro, 3.2 intel, MSI PM8 m/b, ide drive, 2 gig, IE ver 6.0.28. I ocassionally browse with it to find CAD details and material size data. I really don't want to upgrade or change the browser.

Security software: Spyware Killer Pro ver 2.0 -- Panicware Pop Up Stopper Pro ver 1.8 -- Zone Alarm (free)

The problem is the right click on a link for "open in new window" does not work. It gives me the quick "no" symbol. A black circle with a slash across it. Tried the IE repair, tried disabling security in all the configurations possible, default reset on IE Avanced settings.

    Any ideas??

Dan, I had my wife look at your problem (quite frankly my eyes glazed over) and she actually was able to explain what you stated. Unfortunately she said she has no idea what it is other than she suspects Spyware, but if anyone has that covered you do.

Sorry I could not be of more help.

If no one has changed any of the settings on any of the software then check if there have been any new updates downloaded for the security software(s) you have.

I experienced something similiar back a few years ago. In the end an update downloaded changed 1 setting on spyware software. Once I changed the setting back to what I originally had the problem was solved.
