    01 Mazima 169K miles

Last night coming home my BRAKE light AND battery light came on at the same time - freaked me out.

So do I need a new battery OR alternator?

DH isn't home so I don't want to go trekin' down to advance when it might not even be the battery.

Usually the battery light is a good indication of the alternator going bad. Check the brake fluid level as that may be what triggered the brake light indicator.

Check brake fluid just to be safe, but I would check the battery first, most likely the alternator has gone out.
If both came on in a chevrolet, I would say put an alternator in in hands down, but being a Nissan, hard to say.
Go to TAG, they will check it for you.
    Tell them I sent ya

I just don't want to get 1/2 way down the beltline and end up on the side of the road. That would suck.

I'll have it checked out Monday. The car starts but I really don't know how far I can go - ya know.:?
