Clip And Sip: N.C. Eyes Coupons For Beer, Wine Sales POSTED: 5:29 pm EST November 8, 2006 UPDATED: 6:48 pm EST November 8, 2006 RALEIGH, N.C. -- The state Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission on Wednesday discussed a proposal that would allow retailers to use coupons or membership cards to sell beer and wine at a discount. The move comes as more wineries open in North Carolina, and the hearing by the ABC Commission is one step in the process of changing state regulation of alcohol sales. http://www.wral.com/news/10276289/detail.html
I was just in Lowe's Foods in Clayton and there were quite a few wine tag coupons in there, one of them was for $1 off Butterball turkey, some off of stuffing and off Swanson broth. I only took one of each kind, so there should be quite a few left tonight.
I also saw some wine tags and rebate forms this morning at the Food Lion in Clayton on 70 near Main Street. Also saw some Miller lite $10 off $20 turkey rebate forms. There were a number of them on a Miller Lite display behind the produce section.
FM03 - If I still have my receipt from my .18 a lb turkey that I paid 3 bucks for, can I use this rebate?

If it was purchased during the time frame the rebate is for, then yes, you can use it. Read the rebate and see when the purchase should be made. Some have a start date, some don't. Also, make sure it qualifies based on the amount you need to spend. I think it is a $10 off $20 rebate.
solly chollies. Alcohol Commission Rejects Proposal To Let Stores Offer Coupons POSTED: 1:40 am EST November 10, 2006 UPDATED: 1:40 am EST November 10, 2006 RALEIGH, N.C. -- The state's Alcohol Beverage Control Commission has rejected a plan that would allow retailers to offer frequent-shopper discounts and coupons for beer and wine. The commission's 2-1 rejection came Thursday after North Carolina First Lady Mary Easley, national co-chairwoman of Leadership to Keep Children Alcohol Free, wrote a letter to commissioners. "I believe this proposal is socially irresponsible and dangerous," Easley wrote. Darrell Jernigan, director of the Governors Highway Safety Program, also criticized the proposal, saying it would undermine efforts to curb drunken driving. Retailers had sought permission to offer coupons on beer and wine just as they do with other goods. A similar proposal failed to pass through the state Legislature earlier this year. "I'm not sure where we go from here," said Andy Ellen, a lobbyist for the North Carolina Retail Merchants Association. Commissioners encouraged the retailers to modify the plan, perhaps by limiting the coupons to wine. ___ Information from: The News & Observer, http://www.newsobserver.com
