Any one know of a way to compress an 85mb file down to about 10mb? I have tried putting it into both rar and zip formats but still can not get it down that much.
You cannot compres a single 85 MB file down to a single 10 MB file. You will have to split the 85 MB file into multiple parts if you want to get it down to 10 MB.
it depends on the type of file. What type of file is it? 7Zip has probably the best compression algorithm available, but it will not compress an already compressed file (.jpg .mp3 .mp4 etc) that much.
If it is a video or audio file you might be able to get it down to that size by re-encoding at a lower bitrate and/or changing the resolution.
