Dispose of an old PC and monitor

Does anyone know of a school or some non-profit that wants an old computer? A Pentium 2 circa 1995 plus a 20" monitor. A friend with the GCF told me they have more old computers than they know what to do with.

My major concern is how to clean off the hard drive before I donate it. The hard drive was failing but it was still working when I dismantled it to set up my new PC. So I don't feel comfortable giving it away as it is.

Should I reformat the hard drive (all the SW would be lost and I don't want to reload) and then dump it on GCF or leave it on the steps of Clayton High? Any other suggestions?

If you would like I could wipe the drive for you. If you just format then a computer geek could possibly still get your information.

After I wipe the drive I could then donate it to a company called Imagine. They are a non-profit that would refurbish the PC and give it to a disabled person that doesn't have a PC. For the PC they would give you a tax write off form for the PC.

If interested PM me and I can get you some more information.
