This is so annoying... I have one recorder box (whatever you call it) with two receivers. I have one upstairs and one downstairs. Now, when I record a show, I can view it from both TVs. I think thats awesome. My problem is, when I watch a show on a TV that I'm also recording on, my TV automatically switches to the channel that is recording. If I try to switch back to the channel I was watching, it tells me that in order to switch channels, it has to stop recording the show that I orginally had recorded. This annoyes me to no end. Anyway, is there a way to bypass this? Its pretty obvious to me that I have to buy a second recorder. Does anyone know the price of this?
A receiver with dual tuners. Each tuner is capable of recording one channel, so you would pump two lines to it. That way you could record 2 at a time or view one channel and record another.
hey.......... my new neightbor tried to get time warner and they came out and said no.... I think they need to run a line from the road...that might get done on a year of so???? how long does it take?
I've got DISH with two VIP 622 receivers. You can run these in single or dual mode (for two tv's). Sounds to me like your running yours in single mode. Not sure what model you have but read your owners manual and see if you can switch to dual mode. If so, this should alleviate your problems.
