I need to copy/burn a dvd, I need to make about 10 copies. Any suggestions as to what type to look for, where to buy and approx cost? Thanks! :)

You need to know what type of DVD burner you have ..... + or - or both (±). The discs have to be the same type, or be able to cover both types.

Your owners manual should tell you that OR the DVD burner itself will have a sticker on it (it will probably have to be removed from the PC to see it).

Also, do you want discs that can be burned only once (R) or more than once (RW)?

Then we get into techie terms like double-layer and lightscribe.

Burner is at my Dh's work, so I'll have to get him find out what type. They only need to be burned once. It's just a picture video, if that helps with your questions. :)

If just burned once then you need DVD-R or DVD+R, still need to find out which type of disc (+ or -) the burner is compatible with, could be one or the other or both. But if you buy DVD-R and the burner only writes in DVD+R format, you wasted your money. And vice versa. Only way around figuring out exactly what type you need is to buy DVD±R discs.

With 'write once' (R) discs, if the burn process has any errors before it finishes, you have to throw the disc away and start over with a new one. Can get expensive if you're having problems burning. But 'write once' discs are less expensive than 're-writeable' (RW) discs.
