Have any of you had any luck tracing the origination of an email/IP address using the email headers. If so, what site/product/service did you use to do this. Thanks for You Help
http://www.nwtools.com/ Type the IP address in the box, click the radio button for LOOKUP, and click SUBMIT. Keep in mind that it might not take you straight to the PC, but rather the IP address of any firewall they might be using. If you're trying to track down spammers, they tend to route through open relays living on people's home machines. So you have the right address, but it's for an unbenowst dummy doing someone's dirty work for them. (If it is a real spammer, of the shady sort, they can use IP spoofing, which gives you a bogus IP address in the email headers.)
