I am getting emails from Qwest. With a return address of qwest@em.qwest.com the body of the text is as follows: Digital Impact is currently working on your custom content integration. The assigned Target Content task owner will receive a notifiction when all content is ready. If you have any questions, please contact your Digital Impact Account Executive. click here and the source code for the 'click here' is http://qwest.p.delivery.net/m/u/qst...nk.net&mid=1114333720&cid=12818212406 I do not deal with Qwest and have gotten about 4 of these emails in the past two days. I am suspecting it is some sort of virus attack.
The e-mail probably wasn't actually sent by Qwest. It was just "spoofed" to make it look like it was. Spoofing the "sender" information is very easy to do. If that is the case, there was no 'hacking' done, or any virus etc. Whomever sent it probably is trying to phish for personal information, i.e. passwords, bank account numbers, etc. There will typically be a legitimate-looking link that they want you to click on and enter info into a form. If you look at the e-mail headers, you can see where the e-mail actually originated from. Headers are usually turned off from display, by default. Just delete it. Set your junk e-mail filter to delete hem automatically, if you can and want to. You could investigate and report the activity to Qwest, and the owner of the server that the e-mail originated from, but that'll probably get you nowhere.
