Faye, Advise please. I was going back over receipts from my last Lowes triple coupons shopping trips - went 3 times, used 20 coupons each time. On two trips, no problem. Coupon savings = double coupon savings = triple coupon savings. But on the last trip, seems that only 19 coupons doubled (lost 25 cents). And only 18 coupons tripled (lost the 25 cent one, and also a 75 cent one) - and one "triple" was for 30 cents - but I didn't have any 30 cent coupons (a 75 cent tripled as 30 cents). This is not the first time I've seen discrepancies (after getting home). Granted it's a small amount of money, but... Would you suggest challenging the cashier on the spot? (hold up others in line, need time to analyze discrepancy, surly/dense cashiers) Or just approach the office manager?
I am not Faye, but... If the item you bought was less than the coupon's value full tripled amount it will not triple, or depending on the item's amount not triple for the full amount. (hence the .75 only going up to .30) Also, if a coupon doesn't scan properly and they put it in manually I have had trouble with it not tripling for some reason as well. If you think they were wrong I would definitely go talk to someone.... Good luck!
Thanks for the feedback. I will watch the manual entries from now on. I thought we got the triple despite the cost of the item. Hasn't Faye talked about occasionally getting more back than the item cost? (Kind of like getting paid to take it out of the store. ) Maybe I misread the circumstances.
I have heard of that happening, but it's never happened to me, LOL! Normally on mine during triples, it only triples up to the amount of the item the coupon was for, there isn't any overage in my experience. Again, some do get money back, but I haven't figured out how that happens yet. 8)
Hi AL, I think kdc & ljk pretty much covered it. The same issue has happened to me as well and it is usually that the item was less than the full triple amount. I find that there are always some coupons that will triple to the full amount even when it is more than the item price. There is no rhyme or reason that I know of, so I can't tell you why. I just know it happens and that is how many of us end up with negative balances at some point during triples. When a coupon doesn't triple completely, I won't challenge it unless it is a consistent problem (for instance, if only 1/2 of the coupons tripled). We are already getting such amazing savings that I won't make an issue over 30 cents. Hoep that helps! Faye
