Anyone know about or use Firefox? I was told it was both better and faster. I'm sure there are pros and cons and I'd like some input. I'm not very good with computers! That is an understatement! I guess I should also ask do they have support!

Also, one more question. We use peoplepc and for the last week or so a strange thing happens when I sign on. The home page is normal (full size) but when I click on email or any other page, it is minimum size. Of course, this isn't anything major and I can easily enlarge the page, but is there a setting of some type that I could change in order not to have to do each and every page separately?

    Thanks for any help!

Love Firefox....I've used it for over 2 years now and it really cut down on the pop ups!

I like Firefox. I especially like the "restore" option when one of those momentary power outages shuts down all my 7 or 8 windows.

I am so glad to find out that I'm not the only non-techie person that uses a computer!
Thanks to all who have discussed firefox....I may give it a shot. I'm assuming you just install it and then (hopefully) you could import favorites from your other location. Also, what if you don't like firefox and want to go back, do you just uninstall?

Another question since I have found someone with knowledge! On other forums, and this has just been the last few days, I have to scroll back and forth in order to read a sentence on a page. This wasn't the case before and I don't know how to remedy that....any suggestions? Thanks

thanks... I'm going to try that right now.... I will ask God (if there is such a thing) not to crash my computer.

Let me ask you this and see if you have any ideas.... before I took my computer to have the hard drive wiped and the OS (XP Pro) reinstalled, (nasty virus) I saved some important data, including my Outlook Express address book to an external hard drive. Now when I go to import it back, it's coming up an error and won't do it. Any ideas? I really need that address book.

I'm not sure if mine asked & I skipped it or what, but after I'd been using Firefox for a few days, it was a pain not having my old bookmarks, so I went looking and it was not difficult to import them. Don't remember now how I did it, but I'm sure I found the instructions on Firefox help. I'm pretty good at following instructions. ;) Even though I'm a tech-no-not.

I use del.icio.us a lot now, it's great, but I do still use my bookmarks for certain sites.

Steve...what error message are you getting on the Outlook Express address book import?

actually, I turned off the external hard drive, rebooted the computer, turned the hard drive back on and it is currently merrily loading my address book, which will probably take awhile, but it's working great. Go figure. I can't, and I don't care as long as it's working.

Thanks to all.....sounds like Firefox would be worth trying.

I'm still having the page size problem in other forums, but apparently others are having the same problem. The "powers that be" are looking into what the problem might be....one person had suggested changing the resolution settings but I'm going to wait and see if the website handles the problem.
