I have never encountered this, but I received my Food Lion weekly sale flier this past week. I live in Clayton. It had cantalopes BOGO. I work in Garner, so I go to the Food Lion on Timber, pick up 2 lopes and they charge me full price. I told the gal they are BOGO. She picks up the flier and looks and they are not there!

Hmmm.. so I get the manager, (I know, they're just lopes!) and he said the fliers are different for each county. He gave me the deal anyway, but, MAN, did I think I was going crazy.

I never knew they did that... I thought the fliers were all the same!

Nope, unfortunately they are not. And if you log on to the websites of various supermarkets, they ask you your zip code so they can give you the specials to the store closest to you. They will even have you pick the store. Btw, you can have them email you the specials from the store you shop at. I do that with most of them so I can find the best specials.

Someone in Customer Service at Target told me that the Targets are not all priced the same and they are not allowed to price match from another Target. It makes things a little confusing if you shop at multiple branches of the same store.

many companies now carry these practices.

they h ave in the past catered to being specific with brands that are carried food lion at mcgees carries more food lion brand then i think at the one at 42

the at 42 seems to carry ore of each category

the retail company i work for has a different sale at each location
you may find an item where i work for 30 % off but in sc it may be 40% off because it doesn't sell as well their

I ran into the same thing at Walmart awhile back. I found an item at the Walmart in Holly Springs, but they were out of stock. So I drove to the one in Fuquay and they had it in stock, but it was listed at $10 higher than the other Walmart. I asked about it because of their price match policy. The clerk said they will price match other store chains, but will not price match another Walmart. I asked for a manager who told me the same thing. They were never able to give me a good reason for it, just said that was how it was. The manager ended up giving it to me at the lower price, but made it clear that she was doing this as a one time thing. I still cannot understand the concept of price matching another store chain, but not your own.

I appreciate all the input...I just thought a sale was a sale and all of them honored the prices. The Food Lion manager was super nice and honored it. Good idea on logging onto their site and having them email the specials. Great idea!
