I just heard that General Electric is recalling wall ovens because of a fire hazard. As I have pointed out on another thread, please be very wary of General Electric appliances that have been manufactured in the last 10 to 15 yrs. These appliances have been primarily been manufactured in Mexico and there have been a number of issues with Ge Appliances. The General Electric "Triton Series" dishwashers are on a government recall because of issues with the rinse aid dispenser leaking into the wiring in the door and causing fires. These models are usually identified with the model # beginning with the letters GSD followed by a series of numbers. the sticker is located on the inside of the tub on the side usually the left side looking into the tub. To determine if your Dishwasher is a recall ,- Record the Model # And Serial # and Check out G.E. website www.geappliances.com or call the 800 GE CARES tel # and run the Model and Serial ## by them . As for their wall ovens they have not said any particular models but the report noted that the Monogram series and also some of the models manufactured for Kenmore are on the recall list. Please take note of this. this is a real concern and I would not want to have anyone out here go through what my family and I just went through with losing our home to a fire. Here is the posting info off Ge's website:

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and the General Electric Company (GE) have announced a recall to inspect and repair certain GE®, GE Profile™, Monogram® and Kenmore wall ovens. Please read this Notice carefully and call the GE Hotline for a free repair if your oven is included in the recall. This recall includes 244,000 wall ovens manufactured from October 1, 2002 to December 31, 2003.

To determine of your wall oven is included in the recall, submit the information below or call the GE Hotline.
