We've got a printer/fax/scanner that since last week absolutely refuses to print,at least not off of my laptop. It prints fine when my husband connects it to his laptop :x

I went through troubleshooting in the HP program-no luck.

Also uninstalled it and then reinstalled it,still no luck.

It's a hp psc 2210v all in one.

Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

    Thanks in advance!

Probably not it, but have you verified that the printer is set as the default on your laptop.

First, how do you connect to the printer, directly with the USB cable or is this a shared printer on another system? If you are plugging in the cable to your PC than try a different port on your PC. Does your PC recognize that it is connected? I really need more details to help you further.

Yes it does recognize it. It is connected through the USB cable.

Have you tried printing a test page from the printer and fax properties? Also what application are you trying to print from? Try from more than one app, like notepad and whatever else you are tring to print. Have you checked the printer queue? Double click the printer and delete any print jobs. Have you tried the windows troubleshooter? When you print a test page, windows will ask if it printed. Click "NO" and try the steps that it asks. Did you change the usb port that you plugged it in to? Lastly have you rebooted your laptop?

I will check with my husband this morning since he's usually the one in charge of the "tech" stuff and then let you know.
Started watching a movie last night otherwise would have answered you sooner, sorry!

The printer queue is empty. Tried and plugged in usb cable into other port-no luck.
Did try windows troubleshooter but it could not fix it either.
    Did reboot the the computer.
Will try to print the test page and report on that shortly.

Do you receive any error messages when trying to print?
You can view the event logs for more details about errors. You can get here by typing "eventvwr.msc" into start --> Run. Look for anything relating to printers or spooler.
Lastly, have your husband connect to it and share it. Then connect to his laptop from your machine and add the printer and try to print.

Also, you can completely remove the printer and driver from your machine. Reboot and then attach the printer. Does it ask to install drivers? If so, then download them again or use the CD that it came with to install.

We usually do not receive a error message, however after just now uninstalling and then reinstalling we were told that some unknown error occurred and it failed to print.
It did print a test page but it wont print anything else, weird!
We will try your other suggestions such as the sharing tomorrow.
