okay not big computer person and I dont know if this has been brought up. My computer doesnt go to some pages. for instance if I want to change my password here it takes a long time then goes to an error page. I have to get webbie to do everything for me. other site i cant go to is mycouponclippers.com. when i go to order, boom, error. I have tried internet options and clearing files or cookies. I was told it may be something to do with cookies. also, it says javascript at the bottom of the page while it is trying to go to a site, before the error shows. any suggestions other than what I want to do which is throw it out the window., it gets hard to have to go to other peoples comp. to order coupons and stuff. and a BIG THANK YOU!!
ok I did it and still cant change my profile in here or the other site(ordering coupons) :?: . would it have anything to do with java? got anything else? :?:
What O/S are you using XP, 2K, 98???? What Browser are you using and what is the version? For IE version open an IE window click on Help then About Internet Explorer. What Security level do you have set in your browser? Set it to medium. What Privacy level do you have set in your browser? Set it to medium. Do you have a firewall and virus software? Try turning it off in the systray and give the problem sites a try. If that's the prob, read the help files for that software to resolve. Have you run a spyware check lately?? Run HighJackThis and find all those nasties that may be diverting your browser. Do a Scan & Log and then cut & paste the file here so I can evaluate it. Download free from here: http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/HijackThis.exe This is not self loading. Create a directory (Highjack) in Program Files, save this file to there, then create a shortcut to this file for your desktop.
ok, did all of that. setings were good. at 128 right? i can get into the couponing site now. but still cant change things in 4042 profile. throw it out now?
if you checked for the spyware and stuff like ddran suggested and it still doesn't work you might try another browser like Mozilla Firefox. Quick solution if you've got a high speed connection and fast computer. ...but you will have to install Java for Firefox which is easier than it used to be
I currently have explorer and firefox. both do it. I also have java because i did what romworks said. so i am updated on that.
