    Hi all,

Not sure I'm using the correct term "network", but what I want to do is share internet access from one computer to another in our house. My daughter got a computer for Christmas and I am already on roadrunner and I'm wondering what I need to buy for her to be able to share my connection. Do I need to call Time Warner and have them come out and run cables, or do I just buy a router, etc.?

I'm pretty smart at most things, but not when it comes to stuff like this!

    Thanks for the help.

Hello, all you would need is a router. If your 2 PC's are to far apart where you would not like to run a cable along the floor from one to another or if you dont have the availability to run the cable through the walls then I would go wireless.

I would be happy to help you out. If you would like for me to get the parts that you need and come set it up for you I would be happy to. PM me if you are interested.

Randy to the rescue :) :)

Michelle, there's also a PC Helpdesk forum if you'd like to post in there. I've done so many times, and everyone (including Webbie) is very helpful. You'll see Rom there as well :)

I remember probably six years ago when a friend said he knew a guy who put a network in his house. I'm like "that's crazy!" A year later a guy I worked w/ a guy at Creative Labs who put his computer and his wife's computer on a network I was like "darn geek!"

Here I am w/ a home computer, work laptop, an XBox and a TiVo networked and two other work laptops sometimes networked. And printer sharing and wireless sometimes.

    Times they is a changin'

    /just my two cents.
