I have a friend that is basically being stalked via the internet. It is someone she knows. He is threatening to give her pc a virus. Isn't the only way to do that, to email it to her or send her a website to click on or something of that nature? Also she said when she was talking to him on Yahoo IM, he froze it up on her, (told her he was going to do it and did). Is that possible? Just trying to get some info to help her protect her pc from this guy. She does have a firewall and virus protector. In the meantime I told her to change all her usernames and passwords in case he knows any of them.
Thanks for the info Ken. Can he just infect her pc w/o emailing her or having her click on something she shouldn't? I have never heard of that before. Can he take control of her pc remotley to mess it up on her?
Not a computer geek myself, but my wife is (I am a different type of geek) and If he has had access to her computer in the past he could take control of the PC Remotely, because I have seen my wife do it (legally) a number of times.
Thanks Hught. I have seen it done before myself, (to my pc by my isp when I had something that needed to be fixed), so I knew it was not impossible. I wonder if a fire wall would prevent that from happening?
