ip locator

    is it possible check an e-mail to find where it originated from?
    I remember seeing a link for this but not sure where seems like it was an ip finder. how do you take this from the message header/details?

    I am checking for the potential of a scam before it is too late

    Yeah you can but it is only going to give you the public address of the server not the workstation.

    But embeded in each email is encrypted headers that will give the SOA, Server name, etc. But usually Joe Blow will not have access to that part of the email. Most of the time a Email admin will not either. The encryption key has to be decoded. Not a simple task. If you have the right Microsoft tools it can be done. Same for pst files also.
