    Copied from www.savvydollar.org:

I bought the following Academix brand items:

    Rubber Bands
    Tape
    Calculator
    Paper Clips
    Foil Stars
    Pencil Sharpener
    Protractor
    Erasers
    Binder Clips
    Home Punch
    Caribiner Clips
    2ct Ballpoint Pens

for a total of $1.46 (half of it was tax)

Most the the items are on sale, most of them B1G1, so half price.

If you havent already done so, join https://lowesfoods.instasave.com/join/ where you can add online coupons to your Lowes card.

They have 20 + coupons available for the school supplies which you can load to your Lowes card. Many of the coupons will give overage (like the pens are $1.25 but $2 comes off with the coupon) and they are deducted automatically. Coupons are 1 time use.

Reps to katncaed who posted on HCW

I did this myself last night and got 10 items for .98! The $2 gel pen instasave did not come off but I called and they are gonna credit it to my card.

I wondered about the prices becuse there are some good coupons on the insta save site, they are only one time Q's but that is good enough for me

You can always donate any unused office supplies to the schools or if your church does the shoe boxes at Christmas they would be great in there too!

It's too bad it's only a one time use on the instasave.

There are some folks (one in Mcgee's) posting on CL needing school supplies. I just always wonder how legit they are. I was thinking of asking the school guidance counselor if I donated items to her if she could pass them out as she sees a need??

The men's group in our church does that every year. They collect school supplies and donate them to an elementary school to be given to children at the school's discretion.

A couple of my friends that I used to teach with are going to go to Lowes also and they will take my items to school. They were thrilled to death when I told them about the coupons. THANKS AGAIN!!!:grouphug:

If anyone is interested in a low cost computer for their children. There is a place in Raleigh on Capital Blvd called PURPLE ELEPHANT COMPUTER FACTORY they have TOP quality computers for $100-$200 also a warehouse full of accessories. You can get a laser printer for $50. I have a number of friends that have checked it out and say it's unbelievable.........HAVE A GOOD DAY..... ANNE

Definitely call the school. I work there, and I know they have a supply closet, or drawer, and they use it for the kids that may not have supplies. Also, Dr Williams, the chiropractor at 210 is doing a school supply drive. He gives them to all of the local schools. They need them desperately.

I went to Lowes Foods on 42, and they are running low on stuff now. I will definitely be using the insta save from now on though. I spent $38 and had 5 bags of groceries including:

    waffles
    pancakes
    syrup
    1 gallon organic milk
    rubber bands
    pens
    applesauce
    mus-My Friend
    2 bottles of ketchup
    spaghetti
    mac n cheese
    hole puncher
    jelly
    staple remover
    pushpins
    thumbtacks

    Can't remember everything else.

I tried this and received an error saying that my number already exists.
I'm already signed up with my card for lowesfoodstogo.com and it won't let me sign up again. Does this mean that they are already/automatically loading the coupons?

I don't know about that. Try calling the corporate office of Lowe's and asking them. They are VERY polite when you call and they will give you a quick answer. Good luck!
