I tried to network two of my PCs, but failed miserably. I'm good with the cables and the Router, but when I try to start up again, I can't access Roadrunner.

Any ideas, tips, suggestions, etc. would be appreciated.

Need a summary of your setup, such as the operating system on both PC's and how you have them connected. Should be able to help you out with that info. Thanks!

Did you set all the configurations in the router to match what you have there.. What kind of router do you have?

I am thinking it is something simple such as the default gateway not set up right on your PCs or DHCP,etc..

Try doing a ping command to your routers default gateway address to see if you can get through Layer 2

    First things first.

I assume you've got the cable modem going into the router and then the two computers going into the router.

Turn off the cable modem. I usually just unplug the DC adapter (power adapter) from the back of the modem. Wait 5 or so seconds. Plug back in. Wait 'til all the lights are back on or most. It takes approx. a minute. Now do the same thing with the router. Unplug power and plug back and wait about 30 seconds. Now reboot both computers. That usually solves 80% of my problems.

If its a used router, you might want to reset the router. There's sometimes a small reset button on the back.
