The big day is almost here! A Harris Teeter that isn't 30 miles away! The new HT on 401 and Ten Ten is openning this coming Wed (across from the Food Lion shopping center). I hear there is a wine tasting and ribbon cutting on Tuesday night, but have not verified that info. I hope there are some good openning day coupons! If you live in a 5 mile radius of the Lowe's Foods in Garner, you were sent four coupons for $10 off a $35 purchase. I did not receive one so if anyone has an extra they won't need, I would love it! Someday Harris Teeter may realize that JoCo residents can actually afford their food and build one in our area. (Not holding breathe, though).
Faye, there is always the Tuesday night thing when they are opening...they invite certain people to attend those things I've been trying to get one to open in Clayton since 1996 when HT moved us back to the area and my DH and I were both employed in their corporate offices....now it's just the DH and that is one of his stores (the new one). I'm so glad it's only 13 miles from my house!
Re: HT Coupons Honored by Lowes What HT coupons? Did HT send out coupons also? Didn't get the Lowe's ones and have not seen any HT ones.
Re: HT Coupons Honored by Lowes You're so funny! I was bummed that HT had run out of 16oz Daisy sour cream.
The following was posted on the yahoo group from Sue Stock, the N & O retail reporter (who happens to be a great couponer as well!): Hey everyone, A little late to the party, but I know there was some discussion yesterday about the new Teeter at 10-10 and 401. Here's the skinny: The official first day of business is tomorrow, the 30th. But the ribbon cutting is TODAY (Tuesday) at 5:30. Immediately after that they'll be doing the Taste of Teeter thing where they have food stations, wine tasting, etc. I can't say for sure what the plans are for this Taste of Teeter, but when they opened the one on Falls of the Neuse Road here in Raleigh a while back, they were even handing out ice cream in the frozen food section. Taste of Teeter runs from after the ribbon cutting to 8 p.m. If you can't make it tonight, try to go this weekend. They'll be doing sampling on Friday 4-8 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Also (for those with kids) on Saturday, from 11 to 3, Harry the Dragon will be there, as will Harry's Hot Dog Wagon. If you do go, keep you eyes out for those Taste of Teeter coupon booklets. They usually pass them out during the Taste of Teeter thing, but there are often leftovers sitting around at the customer service counter. Most of the coupons are for HT brand products, but the big bonus in that booklet is usually a $1 off any HT produce coupon. Happy shopping! Sue Sue Stock Retail Reporter The News & Observer
