Just bought a new laptop, Aspire 5534. I'm using Mozilla Firefox for internet browsing. Most of the fonts on the screen are too light for me to read. Is there a way for it to be darker and bolder for easier reading? Adjusting screen brightness isn't helpful.

Check under Tools Options Content. You can change fonts and such there. check around and see if you can make them bold and such

In the low left corner of the keyboard you have an 'FN' key. It has a different color. Look on all the keys, any symbol with that color is controlled by holding down the FN key and then pressing that symbol key. Read the manual for what functions and "How To". If you don't read it and make a mistake ..... you'll be reading it anyway to get the settings back.

When on battery power, laptops conserve energy by limiting screen backlighting.
Try adjusting the screen brightness. There's a florescent bulb behind your screen that has adjustable brightness. The FN symbol for brightness is either a sun or a light bulb. There's one key for 'up' and one for 'down'. Tap it one at a time till you get the brightness you want
