I was just going over my receipts, and had not realized how much I paid for milk at Clayton W-Mrt. On 10/4, I paid $5.87! Yikes! I found a thread on cheaper places to buy milk ( http://www.4042.com/4042forums/showthread.php?t=9164&highlight=milk ) but also have to keep it in reason (i.e. I'm not going to Durham to buy milk.) Where are you shopping for milk, and what are you paying for it?
I did the same thing at Wally world. I grabbed 2 gallons and looked at only one of the labels. I guess some one before me caught the $ difference and switched out what they already had in their hand with one from the cheaper section. And I was the lucky idiot who paid the expense for some one else's laziness. What? They couldn't step back two feet and put it back where they got it from? Then again, I should have looked at both. I just assume every one else is as courteous as I am, and usually they aren't. Sorry, don't know where THAT came from!
Trader Joe's in Cary has a gallon for $3.19 everyday. Harris Teeter has a gallon of HT brand for $3.69 everyday. Neither is great, but it sure beats CVS over $4 and name brand milk for over $5. I am ready for Walgreen's to have a gallon on sale for $2.79 again.
We too go to Sam's. Cheapest so far. We go through approximately 1.5 gallons a day so it adds up quickly. VERY quickly. A few months ago it was $2.69 at Sam's. Now, it's over $3 there. Everything I noticed is going up around us lately. Crazy, huh? Hey, maybe we can all get together and buy our own cow--LOL. Enjoy your week folks!!! Take care, stephanie--mom to 7
We go through about 2 gallons a week and there are just 3 of us. I do get it at Sam's when I can, at Walgreens when they run it on sale, at Wally World (store brand, it's all the same) as a last resort.
I go through usually get it a t Sam's or BJ's (I am a member at Sams my daughter at BJ's) which ever I am driving past but I don't go out of my way or the gas takes the savings I didn't know there was a Trader Joe's in Cary went there when I was at my sister up in Mass. near Boston I'll have to swing by and check it out.
I don't get much anymore. Seems that 1/2 gallon will last 2 weeks. I still look for deals tho. Lately, BJs is the best, followed by HT (at least in this area). Frogger
