If I backup my Outlook file (.pst) (today) and lets say I name it 'mailboxbackup072105 and then I go into my outlook and delete some of those old files from the personal folder list and 'clean it up'. If I happen to need something out of one of those 'personal folder' from the back up from 072105 - a few months from now - will I be able to open the old backup (and have 2 instances of Outlook running)?

    I hope this makes sense?

    Thanks - Grinch

Yes, you can do that. In Outlook you can click on FILE and OPEN and then browse to any valid .PST file. It will open that file and let you browse the contents. You will have your current .PST file open, plus the backup .PST at the same time and be able to view the contents of each.
