Does Lowes Foods still do this?

I was in there today, and picked up a Birds Eye 5lb bag of white potatoes in the produce deptartment. Plain as day, it says up above them, "white potatoes - $3.49". Well.. they scanned $3.99, so I set my cart aside and went back over to produce to double check that I hadn't misread the sign, and I hadn't. So I took my receipt and went to Customer "lack of" Service (on a Sunday anyways) and the girl promptly gave me back .41 cents. I very politely asked if they still did the Price Scan Guarantee and she looked at me like I had 2 heads. I proceeded to explain it to her and she just gave me a put out kind of sigh, figured the difference that she still owed me and apologized for the error (not for her attitude though). She never did write it up on the clipboard as they normally do, so .... if anyone happens to be going by Lowes Foods in the near future, you should pick up the 5lb bag of white potatoes and see if they're still FREE.

That's good to know. I don't need any potatoes but wonder if they could screw up the price on dog food?

    New here...what's their policy?

Hi, I'm new to the area and to this board. What is Lowe's policy if something doesn't scan at the advertised price? Do you get it for free?

As far as I know, if something scans incorrectly and you point it out to the customer service desk (not the cashier) you would get it for free, and if you have multiple items you would get the rest at the correct price. If I think something has rung up incorrectly I always set my stuff aside and go back to double check before approaching customer service about it.

I don't know if FL or HT do that also, Faye would know though.... Oh Faye??

    Attention: Tassy

You are correct about the policy. The only things it would not apply is beer, wine, and tobacco. The person at customer service was wrong to only give you a partial refund. Thanks for putting it on the board-I will work on finding out who "THE BAD APPLE" at the store is. (Please don't send a description in on the forum)

I apologize on behalf of Lowes Foods and If you need anything...please let me know.
