I searched and found one thread about recycling computer parts but no suggestions where I can take my stuff? I already posted on freecycle (wake and johnston), craigslist, and on this site in the classifieds but all I am getting is a buncha emails and no shows.

Any ideas where I can take this stuff? I see that Wake County has a curb side pick-up but since I'm in JC that doesn't help me much...

    Thanks.

Be careful. Some computer parts contain stuff that is environmentally toxic.

Does the landfill have a special place for that? Like the other recycling, newspapers, plastic, etc.?

I don't know. I never sent used computer stuff to a landfill, I always donated to a local school.

The local collection points don't it bothers me when they tell me to dump one of the older monitors in with the regular refuse.

In some areas the municipal governments have PC days. When in Michigan last week my company dropped off 4 defunct laptops and an old desktop.

I just called the JoCo landfill for information. Used computers and parts from households would go into the landfill. They do not take that type of stuff in quantity from businesses, however, the business would be referred to this web site:

    Hope that helps.
