    taking recomendations for a local computer reapir place. may need a hard drive recovered. thanks

    "hard drive recovered" as in data pulled from it that cannot be done just by connecting it to a working computer? If so, you're talking about data recovery, and that gets very expensive.

    If you are at all linux savvy I could probably walk you through how to do this. It's relatively easy as long as it isn't a physical problem.

    Does the harddrive spin up at all or work intermittently?
    What makes you think it is going bad?
