scientific notation

    Anyone know how to do the scientific notation in word 2003

    you know 10 with the little 2 or 3 or what ever number.

    You highlight the 2 or 3, click the right mouse button and then set the font to Superscript.

    Thanks, I totally forgot about superscript. I was thinking there was some harder mysterious Microsoft way of doing something easy.

    Superscipts 1, 2, and 3 can be done with the ALT key (hold it down) and the numeric keypad on the right side of your keyboard. (No, the numbers above the letters will not work.)

    ¹ = ALT + 185
    ² = ALT + 178
    ³ = ALT + 179

    If you look in Windows 'character map' (if installed >> Start, Accessories, System Tools, Character Map), and click on any of the characters there, you will see the ALT + combo required. Or you can select the character, press the Select button, highlight the character selected, click the Copy button, and paste (CTRL + V) where you want it.
