Shakori Hills Music Festival

    Is anyone going to the Shakori Hills music festival the weekend of of Oct 11th? I've been a few times, and it's always a lot of fun. If you like good bluegrass the Del McCoury band is going to be there on Saturday night.

    Sounds like fun! I love Bluegrass Experience. I used to see them on Thursday nights at the old Cat's Cradle in Chapel Hill. Great band. I wonder how many of the old guys are still in that band. I may have to go check that out.

    Does the Del McCoury band have a traditional sound or is like the newer stuff you hear on the bluegrass channel?

    As you can see in the videos that KDsGrandma posted, Del McCoury is more along the traditional bluegrass line. He use to play in Bill Monroe's band and he is very entertaining. But if you like newgrass there's plenty of that at Shakori too.
