spam email with your own email address as the sender

    Anyone ever receive a spam email. Especially ones dealing with viagra. and the sender address is your email address. I know my account has not been hacked and it doesn't occur all the time but just ****es me off.

    its just bizzar. Got firewall. got spambot. avg antivirus. And it only shows up about once maybe twice a year. Most times I delete it.

    The e-mail probably wasn't actually sent by you. It was just "spoofed" to make it look like it was. Spoofing the "sender" information is very easy to do. If that is the case, there was no 'hacking' done, or any virus etc.

    If you look at the e-mail headers, you can see where the e-mail actually originated from. Headers are usually turned off from display, by default.
