There are a huge number of digital cameras on the market and continuing confusion over how many megapixels you need. Megapixels is a measurement of the amount of resolution (image detail) the camera can capture. It really depends on what you want to do with the camera. Taking digital pictures for a website? Then 1.3 megapixels will work just fine as they will be displayed on a computer monitor and be smaller in size. It's when you plan on taking pictures to print out that the number of megapixels becomes important. And the larger your print size, the more megapixels you will need for acceptable quality. Here's a great chart we found that shows the number of megapixels you need depending on how you plan on using the pictures. Quick rule of thumb - the bigger the size of a picture you want to print out, then the more megapixels you need! http://www.bhphotovideo.com/FrameWork/charts/resolutionChartPopup.html Note! The higher the megapixel rating on the camera, the BIGGER the file sizes will be when you take a picture. Remember to include extra memory cards in your plans if you intend to take many high resolution images.

I'm looking to buy a digital camera. I've seen ones we like in all price ranges and from several companies. I've also researched specific ones online for reviews and customer complaints. I would love some feed back from here on what kind of digital camera some of you have and if you are happy with it. I'm looking to replace my regular camera and use digital pics for printing. Thanks in advance!
