I've read on another local forum that HT is doing triples at the above dates. Anyone here got the scoop? :hurray:
What is Harris Teeter? Looks like we're going to be moving to your area by summer. My husband and I drove around Raleigh when he went down to interview, and we drove by a Harris Teeter and I wondered what is was. Thanks! Chris
HT is a grocery store. We've got Food Lion (vomit) Lowes Foods (yeah) Harris Teeter (pricey) Kroger (hate them) Welcome to the board.
FYI: Food Lion is fine for a gallon of milk or some chips, that's about it. One step up from a convenience store, they have absolutely no variety. And forget about their meat or produce...There happens to be a Food Lion on every corner, everywhere you turn there is a Food Lion! Lowes is great, they have a lot of things you can't find anyplace else, they are very clean and nice stores. Pricey for sure, but they do double up to 60c (99c at the new one, is that everywhere now?) and they offer greenpoints that you can use to save on other purchases. This is my fave store, but can't go weekly because it's too expensive. Never been to Harris Teeter, there aren't too many, and none where I frequently drive to. Kroger is ok, have some good sales sometimes, their 10/10$ sale is usually good. Not too many of them either, but I do go into Garner alot where there is one. I do most of my shopping at Walmart or BJ's, you can't beat their prices. I hear Supertarget has great values too, but there's not one near here unfortunately.
See, I think Food Lion is better, price wise, for all the stuff in the middle of the store (the staples) while somewhere like Harris Teeter is better, quality wise, for the perishables such as produce, meats, etc.
My biggest problem with FL is that they never have what I need. Never. If I go looking for something in particular, they're out, or don't have the right kind.
Just check the dates on things at FL. I went to get guacamole for fajitas and the date was expired, then a few weeks later I had to pick up eggs there. I saw guacamole again and thought I'd check to see if it had been moved. Nope, the one that had expired was still there. :ack: I've had problems there with picking up things with expired dates.
Check Kroger's dates, too. They had some Cattleman's bbq sauce for a buck each several months ago. GREAT deal, 'cept they had mostly expired a few months beforehand.
Did anyone do triples today? I was wondering if anyone had tried to use more than 20 coupons. Are they really enforcing the 20?
I went through several times on my one card. I used 20 coupons each time without any problem. (Kings Grant store) I am planning on going tomorrow morning, but am afraid the shelves will be bare. They were restocking while I was there this morning, so maybe they will stay stocked?? Does anyone know when the new truck comes in?
Just got back from the one on 401. The cashier told me they would have a truck Friday night. So Sat morning, you should be good. I did OK tonight, saved $57.00, spent $40. But I bought several things without coupons, such as milk, cube steaks and some other stuff that was just BOGO. I'm not complaining though. They were out of the Pillsbury frozen biscuits and rolls. Bummer.
