Does anyone use a webcam for long distance calls. I am looking for a way to let my daughter talk to her grandparents. I was wondering if it is better to get a camera that does video or get a camera that takes picture frames? Also which carrier is the best.

If you already have an Instant Messenger program such as Yahoo, MSN or AOL, then all you need to do is download the webcam software from that service.

This setup gives the poorest picture quality. It also requries anyone who wants to see your camera to have the same service.

Any 'new' camera you buy now has video capabilities. Your PC and it's processor, ram, video card, etc. will dictate the video quality.

    Here's 2 links, 1 how-to and 1 for cameras.

I don't own a camera. Can you recommend one?
