I want to set up a page on the internet. Nothing too fancy or too big, just one page with some pics and maybe a link or two - eh... even a little blog area or something would be nice. And something where one does not have to be a member to view the page is a requirment, so networking sites like myspace are out. I have TWC RR, did I get a free page or anything with that?
TW used to do that... i'm not sure if they still do. also: sites.google.com <(only works if you have a domain name though =\) www.geocities.com www.angelfire.com
smartass. lol So, now I just have to find my original work order receipt from when the install was done, I have never used the email or even the homepage.
Yeah, it's pink... Maybe in the filing cabinet. Now on second thought, how does one go about getting a domain? And how does one build the page? I think I have Front Page 98 floating around here somewhere.... would that even be compatible with Vista (yuk)?
Registering a domain is very easy. Just search for the name you want at an online registrar (GoDaddy, Enom, appcomm, inc. ) and if it is available, the registration process takes about 5 minutes. As for FrontPage <gag!>, you may find that it works on Vista, BUT, Microsoft has mothballed that product and a lot of hosting compaines no longer support it because of the many problems that it causes. If you are planning on using an HTML editor to design your site, there are lots better choices than FrontPage!
