Here I am, mister PC Guru getting stumped???? I can't believe I can't fix this one! OK, had my agp video card fail. Needed my PC quick so I poped an old agp card out of a wrecked dell unit. When I loaded the drive from the web I got the BSOD (Blue screen of death) at reboot. It was a driver fault in the System32 files. Got that fixed using the win2k repair on the cd. Threw that card away and dropped back to an ancient PCI card for now till I can get to the store. But now my initial boot from bios goes to a screen for "Novel Netware Ready Firmware Version 1.0" right after it recognizes the drives. It lists items as seen below. RPL-ROM-ADR: 000A E648 D921 RPL-ROM-IRQ: 11 RPL-ROM-PIO: D400 RPL-ROM-FCC: (IT THEN SCROLLS FROM THE #1 TO #5) I then get a boot to windows. Looks like a memory & IRQ config for a D400 card but the card is not there anymore. And, why would the BIOS pick up on the specific video settings? Anyone know what this is?
Right after I typed that post I remembered I hit "Load Optimal Settings" in the BIOS. The RPL fault was caused by the boot sequence!!!!!!! Optimal loads IDE1 and not IDE0 as the hard drive boot. Bingo!!!! ddrdan <---- Doing the Michael Jackson Moon Walk victory dance!!!
