I just got a new Dell and got a Microsoft wireless Keyboard and mouse, well... I have to sit like 2 feet from the wiwreless thing that is plugged into the computer? Anyone have any ideas why, yesterday it was working fine at my desk which is about 3-4 feet from it? Suggestions, concerns, etc... Sorry for any typos, I can barely see my screen I'm so far away from it. :roll: Thanks, HG
It is it's own thing. The batteries were just put in over the weekend? Good grief at this rate I will be replacing batteries once a week?? F that! I don't need it that bad. Thanks Ken!

Harley, it has to be close to the reciever thingy. I know that sounded really computer savvy but. I have 2 personally and you can't be but a certain distance from the computer or the signal weakens ( I guess) I know what you are talking about though. I do think 3-4 ft away is a weee bit too far. It's not a battery issue. Give it time you'll like'em :wink:
this is the EXACT problem i was having. sometimes it worked, sometimes it doesnt. i finally (after almost a year) said f this. in fact, last night i bought a new mouse WITH A WIRE!! and a new keyboard WITH A WIRE. just was to many problems. stock up on batteries. Like ken said i think mine was an interference(sp) problem. Good luck! now I need ideas of what to do with the old wireless stuff. I am thinking something artsy. maybe frame them for a wall pic. How about a lazy susan made from a keyboard in the middle of the kitchen table..lol
Well I have replaced the batteries and move the cell phone and anything else with metal (flashlight, other cordless phone, belt clip for cell) and it seems to be doing fine? Good freaking grief. :roll: :roll: Thanks Ken.

I've had a Gyration keyboard and mouse for a year and a half. No prob's. The mouse is cool because you can use it in the air. It was around $100. But I've gotten the Targus (cheap) at Best Buy and its been pretty good too. I've only got the mouse and ten key pad for travel.
