Familiarity with the judges is as important as knowing the law (for the same reason, I wouldn't hire a Johnston County lawyer to go to Wake.) www.nclawspecialists.org lists those attorneys statewide who have qualified as specialists in various fields, including in family law. Qualification is based on passing an exam, experience, and peer review and recommendation. There are 5 lawyers in Johnston County, 4 in Smithfield and 1 in Garner, who are certified. Any of them would be good choices also.
