I'm like you, Banone; I didn't know anyone didn't know that. But then again, when I went to Ohio, I had never heard of Euker (sp?) and my friends couldn't believe that. Tangerine, I can try to give you the quick run down: Usually played with 4 players, with the 2 sitting opposite each other as partners. All 52 cards are dealt out, and the teams bid on how many tricks (or books, if you're over 35 and went to a private school) your team can win. When the bids are set, each player plays one card, all in the same suit, high card wins the trick. If a player does not have the suit that's lead, s/he may trump with a spade or throw any other card on there. The spade beats the high card of the suit of the card that was lead. Of course, if someone follows with a higher spade, it wins. The hand is scored by giving 10 points for every trick that was bid, and 1 point for every trick you get over the bid. If you fail to make the bid, you lose 10 times your bid in points. Then there's shooting the moon, but I won't go into that. You usually play until one team has 500 points or all night, whichever comes last. Snuff
I guess that's one reason I'm still single.   Hey, I never said anybody had to keep their clothes on. If someone gets a bingo, does everybody else have to strip all the way? Snuff
