One facility ... a JMH building ... on Amelia Church and 42 NOT 40/42 ... Some articles may have referenced 40/42 since some may not know where Amelia Church is. See 4042 homepage for info.
I used to love going there, food was great, but haven't been in a couple of years. Last time I went, there were no clean tables, waitress came over and cleaned a table off, including sticking her hands in the dirty glasses and on the plates and flatware, washed the table off, never washed her hands, and laid out flatware packets and paper placemats. The placemats on one side of the table fell on the floor, she picked them up and put them back on the table. I ate somewhere else that night and have never been back. This is probably what goes on everywhere, but I just couldn't stomach eating there after having seen it with my own eyes. And you are all right about the cigarette smoke, there is no way to get away from it!
Hibatchi Grill in Dunn is the best food and value I've ever seen!! Even if you don't like Chinese, there's enough to choose from the grill that its well worth the 20 bucks for a couple.
Try their Angier location if you haven't. The couple of times we have been there, the smoke wasn't bad. I think one small part is non-smoking too, but I'm not positive. They have more seating at that location as well.
From Hwy 210 go to the 2nd stoplight and take a right onto 55. Go about a mile or so and look for it on the left. It sits right beside of the road, can't miss it. Carlo has done a very nice job redecorating the McGee's location. Now if only he and all the other employees would stop smoking it would be worth the money to eat in. A place that small can't possibly have a smoking and non-smoking section, it's all smoking... and gagging for us nonsmokers.
