feral vs wild No what I notice is that people just assume that every cat that is outside is a feral cat which is not true. It just seems that the term "feral" is being used to widely and not very accurately. And yes, the tag or clipped ear is to notate spaying/neutering but since the "feral cat" organizations are the ones that use it mostly it has also come to identify colony members. We keep track of ours by their tag numbers.
Re: feral vs wild Do you do any type of animal rescue? The reason I ask is b/c more rescue groups are needed for the Johnston County Shelter.
rescue Nope Harley, but if you are at the open house this weekend you will meet me, I am the Fence Doctor. I'll have a table set up there. I do underground fence systems. I do however push any animal you advertise with friends and clients that are looking. Want to help move as many as possible. Look for me and we'll talk.
It really depends on the animal. We had a lab mix that would get wound up going after something that she would go over the "fence" before she could get stopped and then could not get back into the yard. One of our dogs now never has had the collar on but knows where he is allowed to go without it ......
I have a cairn terrier that says in the house but we need something to keep her in the yard when she goes out. we take her out on a leash now.
Re: rescue I met you at the JCAPL event!!! I do security systems! Remember me? See you tomorrow!!!! I'll be there about 1:30-2pm as I have "garner public safety day" to attend to in the am. Sandy
