This is too funny!! My boys did the same thing. My oldest started school two weeks ago because he is at Middle College, but he doesn't have to be to school until 11:20. I asked my middle schooler if he wanted me to take him to school. He said no that if he missed the bus, he would just get his brother to take him. I asked if they were sure and I got "mom, we can take care of this ourselves, just go to work"
that's funny!! ...thats alright....them independent rascals, they will need us this afternoon for dinner....watch and see....
Jen, long story short...waited 4HOURS to see advisor, signed up, registered, and my fin aid did not show up in time. I was so mad. So I will not be starting until next semester. *sigh* need any help with that homework let me know:lol: How are you doing chicky? What are you going for again? I have changed my major....I think
Well the HS made it home. She called me to give me the full report and all I got from the 20 min. convo is three things: 1-There are some HOT boys in her classes 2-She already has homework 3-She already made a lot of new friends today LOL:lol:
Got the same phone call except Mini Me is NOT happy about her classes. Apparently, they had so many AIG kids that there are 2 AIG teams, and all of her friends happen to be on the other team. So she's very disappointed, but I'm afraid I can't fix this one for her.
Ok is it just me or did NONE of the boys look like they do now in HS? And please don't even get me started on the girls I have a stepdaughter in middle school that looks much older than she is. Beautiful girl, but I know I certainly didn't look like that when I was her age.
Yep, just called him to make sure they both made it home ok and my oldest asked what was for dinner and I told him whatever he is going to make...he wasn't amused.
OMG I know what you mean! I saw a few girls at my son's high school that I thought were way older! (and one of them had a skirt on that was WAY too short, she obviously didn't read about the dress code! LOL).
My oldest said there were 2 AIG classes also and most of his friends are in his. Cool! Youngest said that there isn't too many people from last year in his class. but 2 of his old classmates ride his bus this year. And they both said they weren't about to eat the lunch that was served today.
Love it. Those three items will be priority for some time. Mine has always loved making new friends. Today was mine's first day to drive to school and she still was not home 45 minutes after school ended. I decided to call her (don't allow her to use the cell while driving) and she was sitting in the high school parking lot. As I was shaking my head I asked, why? She said, I'm afraid to backup because cars and buses keep lining up behind me to leave. I had to cover the mouth piece of the phone to laugh...I told her to just back out when she was comfortable or she could always stick her head out the window and ask someone to allow her the space to get out. Other than the driving part I do believe she is going to be challenged academically. May need some help from the 4042 family later on. Sherry  P.S. You know all the paperwork that comes home that a parent needs to sign...one of her teachers has the following: Office Hours: Mondays, 2:15 - 3:00, by appointment or by luck (like that kind of humor).
My dd went to Polenta for K, and she didn't have a very good teacher at all..wouldn't answer my questions or help with working with my daughters reading with me. Turns out that 5 kids out of that class didn't make it to 1st grade. Thank God for the rezone and she ended up in Mcgee's and it's been great ever since. She is in 3rd grade this year. LOVE IT! This is only my my thoughts on Polenta, we just didn't have a good experience..doesn't mean the same would happen to someone else. Sheri
Oh I understand....we are not in Polenta's district so it looks like McGee is gonna be IT for my girl unless we move.
Y'all are making me feel old. My girls started their 2nd and 3rd yr of college last week and no, it doesn't get any easier.
OMG! My son didn't get off the bus until almost 5:30 tonight!! There were a bunch of moms and dads at the bus stop wondering where our kids were!! Finally another parent drove up and said a friend of her's (a teacher) called and said they overloaded the bus, and they had to make 2 trips, so they wouldn't be home until 5:30. Sure enough, about 5:20, up comes the bus. I hope they get that straightened out soon, it made for a loooonnnnggg day, and he's got practice Mondays at 6:30, I had a dr appt this afternoon, it was just crazy!
Our girls didn't get home until a little after five, but we expected that. They don't get out of school until 3:55. Hopefully in a few weeks the bus drivers will have all the kinks worked out. I have found the buses are rarley on time the first couple of weeks of school.
My youngest came home last night and said that they have changed his bus and that he now rides a bus with kids that live off of Hwy 50. We live of off Cleveland School Rd by the new elementry school. Who thinks of these bus routes? He said that he and a few others that live in our subdivision talked the bus driver into dropping them off first. I now understand why they are complaining about no money for gas....they aren't looking at the routes and making the routes work for them. UGh!!
The buses were right on time this morning, (our girls missed their's! LOL). Hopefully that is a good sign that they will be home earlier too!
