Embarq is stupid

OK here is a first for me. My house phone rang. I didn't get it in time but then I went to make a call on it and there were 2 people having a conversation. So I hung up and tried again. Same thing. So I called the house phone w/ my cell phone a few minutes later and some woman answers. HUH?
She had her line installed last week and they gave her the same phone number as ours!
Ok that is stupid!

 

Party line!!! (Yep I guess I'm old)

 

LOL that's what we just said! Ain't no partying goin' on here! Gotta go make supper now!

 

We had a party line when I was a kid, I'd try to listen to the conversations until my dad would catch me Guess I'm old too

 

Did laundry... baked cookies AND a cake... supper is practically done.. This is a good time for a quick nap

 

Oh yeah! We did too....fun times! :mrgreen:

 

DH is sick now - god help me. :?

 

I had forgotten all about telephone Party Lines. Oh, the memories of those. How funny!

4 way party line here.... our ring was 1 long!, Grandmothers was 2 short....
to call her we had to dial, hang up & then pick up after giving her long enough to answer.....

Oh yuck, that's awful! Ask Harley, she was just saying she thought she had it last week. I always go to webmd when I'm not sure about something like that. I've never had it myself, but isn't it like a really dry, hacking cough, with stuff coming up, among other things? Maybe wheezing with it, not sure? My sister used to get it all the time as a kid, but can't remember what her symptoms were, sorry.

 

She has a Dr's appt this afternoon, along with her big sister who called from school with a sore throat.

Fun times.
