Deep fried turkey is definitely my favourite way of preparing it.

But be extremely careful. Read up all you can on turkey frying. A Google search will provide literally hundreds of site that will explain and teach (and warn).

I would also suggest you watch the "Good Eats" episode on frying turkeys. Alton Brown is very informative and covers well the dangers and provides helpful suggestions to prevent some of the dangers inherent in the frying. Just as an example, he built a "Turkey Derrick". Your Dad may not have been so careful (and, if he were still with us, he'd probably laugh at it), but there are dozens of news stories every year of people who have burned their house down or worse.

I did watch good eats or something on Food Network and that is how I learned to place the turkey (while still in the package) in the deep fryer filled with water. This way I can get an idea of how much oil to place in the fryer and so it will not boil over! OUCH!! The turkey derrick is too funny! That is my brothers name (derrick)!! LOL
Thanks for the suggestion, I will look for this episode! (now to find his cajun rub he injected in to the turkey) - any suggestions? LOL Sorry for such a LONG thought guys!

Mama and I have been doing WW since May and have lost about 17 lbs apiece.

What's the difference between the 2? I'm really liking WW. It took me a while to get out of the Atkins rut and actually look at potatoes as a good thing in moderation.

They sell stuff like that at Food Lion in the BBQ sauce section. Maybe try one of those!

That was also in the episode.

I believe, if you go to the food network website all the recipes used in the shows are made available for printing.

I can't access the Food Network website from work (it's blocked), so I can't verify. But I'm 99 44/100% sure you can find it there.

    Hey Koo!
NS is like Jenny Craig in that you order the foods you want from their list. WW for instance I would save up points in the day and then splurge on Mcdonald's or something fried and yummy. This plan has you use up the calories through the day and keeps your meal portions smaller. Thats a big difference that I've seen. I've had good luck with WW in the past. The last time not as good. Just trying something different.

If y'all love Food Network... I printed off a recipe I saw Tyler Florence do a few weekends ago, and man was it good!! It was a baked rigatoni, eggplant and sausage recipe. It was 2 or 3 Saturdays ago, and having made it now, the only thing I would change might be a little less eggplant and more sausage... but thats just my personal preference.

    Yum-OOO!!!

Fried turkey is good, but y'all should try it on the grill. OMG, it was the bomb.
